I'm a UF/PNR author and my newest releases are Blood Spirit, the third book in my new series Sons of Navarus, and the Sons short stories Longing and The Deepest Cut.
For me, a book does more than just tell a story. It transports readers away from their daily lives to another place where they can be a part of something different than the common and everyday. I'm always so touched when readers tell me they felt like they were a part of the story when they read my books.
When I'm not writing, I can be found reading romance novels but often mysteries, cookbooks, and anything dealing with ancient and medieval history and European history, in general. I also love the outdoors, so I enjoy the wonderful weather Pennsylvania has to offer. I live there with my son and a herd of pets.own.

Cover Reveal: Tristan's Lyceum Wolves

Tristan's Lyceum Wolves
(Book #3 in the Immortals of New Orleans series)

Author: Kym Grosso
Publisher: Self Published
Expected Publication Date: April 1, 2013
Genre: Adult, Paranormal Romance

SUMMARY:

An erotic paranormal romance…

Charismatic and powerful Lyceum Wolves’ Alpha, Tristan Livingston, is out for revenge after a devastating attack on his pack. Not only did he survive a building collapse, he orchestrated the rebuild of his chic, state-of-the-art nightclub within a week. Determined to mete out justice, he rescues a beautiful witness who may be the key to helping him find the perpetrators.

Dr. Kalli Williams, dedicated veterinarian, is hiding a secret that endangers not only her own life but the lives of wolves across the country. After being tortured by a savage vampire, she’s reluctantly agrees to help the sexy Alpha in his quest to identify suspects; ones who’d kill her on the spot if they knew she existed.  As Kalli places herself in the hands of the dominant wolf, she soon finds she wants nothing more than to submit.

Tristan, committed to ruling his pack as a lone wolf, is inexplicably drawn to the mysterious and enticing woman, who seems more than human, but not quite supernatural. As he discovers her secret, he teaches her the meaning of trust, helping her learn how to be true to her nature. After living a lifetime alone, will he succumb to the visceral need to claim her, acknowledging the soul binding connection between an Alpha and his mate? And will he prevail against the menacing enemy who threatens to destroy Lyceum Wolves?

Isn't that cover just sexy as hell? Tristan, Tristan, Tristan. I do love Tristan. ^_^ Tristan was introduced in the first book of the Immortals of New Orleans series and since that book I have fallen in mad lust for this mighty wolf *wipes brow* I'm extremely excited that he finally gets his book, but I could claw out Kalli's eyes if she touches my fictional man haha. *sigh* She's a lucky wench. *sobs* lol. But, all silliness aside, I'm extremely excited for the release of Tristan's book. I love my vamps, but wolves just take me to a whole nother level :)

Wheew. Welcome back to another week of AMAD! This week, I chose Maddox from the first book in Gena Showalters' LOTU series The Darkest Night. I chose Maddox because ONE it's October and I haven't picked a paranormal alpha male yet, and I figured, I'd start with Maddox. And TWO, because Maddox is keeper of Violence... and I have of thing for his demon ;) Possessive and cocky. Oh, but Maddox doesn't let him out to play much. lmbo! Anywho, I picked this particular scene because you can see the control Maddox is trying to hold in while trying to pleasure Ashyln without Violence jumping out and taking her... and taking her hard! ;)

 "Are you still dirty?"
   "Yes."
   "Where?"
   "Everywhere," was the raspy answer.
He almost smiled. Almost. His desire was too dark for humor. Except blended with the darkness was wonder wonder and awe.
His touch was rougher than he'd intended as he soaped her arms. She didn't seem to mind. He could see that she'd closed her eyes and was nibling on her bottom lip, breathy little sighs emerging every few seconds.
"Have you ever showered with a man before?" Soap in hand, he dropped to his knees.
   She stilled, "Whispered, "No."
I will control myself, whatever it takes, I will control the spirit. He kissed the curve of Ashlyn's lower back, then licked his way up several of her vertebra.
After soaping her calves and thighs and biting the inside of his cheek to keep from biting her, he washed the suds from his hands. Unable to resist another moment more, he inserted two fingers into the very heat of her.
"Oh, Oh!" She jumped away from his erotic touch, but quickly leaned back against him, spreading her legs wider, silently asking for more.
He stroked her, gently pinched her swollen core. A shiver rocked her.
"He pumped deep, as deep as he could go. She gasped out his name.
He backed her against the cool tile. Her eyes rounded, those big beautiful brown eyes. Even though his lips had yet to heal fully, he kissed her, her mouth opened in surprise, then widened in eagerness, welcoming his tongue. He thrust it inside, angling his head to go deeper, to take more, to feed her as much as she needed. Her flavor tantalized him, minty, feminine.
She gasped, and he swallowed the sound.
He bend his knees and pushed up, running his erection against her. She gasped again. She shivered. Her hands tangled in his hair, gripping, pulling him closer. Their teeth banged together; the kiss continued...never stopped...lasted forever...a kiss of sorcery and dreams and fire.
He dropped to his knees a second time.
He licked her right where she wanted him. It was something he'd wanted to do to a woman for years but hadn't dared risk, too afraid of Violence's reaction. In the at moment he was glad that he had waiting. Ashlyn tasted of pure, innocent female. She tasted of honey. Passion and slick heat. Drugging, addicting. His.

SUMMARY:
Every Time She Uses Magic Something Goes Terribly Wrong...
Vana wishes she hadn't dropped out of genie training. Now she's determined to get a grip on both her genie magic and her life. But the harder she tries to fix things for her intriguing new master, the more she drives him crazy...

Except There's Nothing Ever Wrong About Him...
Pro–football player Zane Harrison finally has control of the family estate and is determined to put to rest his grandfather's eccentric reputation. Until he discovers that behind all the rumors is a real, live genie who stirs feelings in him he's never known before. The more Zane tries to help Vana harness her powers, the more her madcap magic entangles his heart...

MY REVIEW:
Nirvana Aphrodite has been sealed in her bottle for over a hundred years, when suddenly Zane Harrison, the grandson of the man who locked her back in her bottle, finds himself in her bottle with no clue that the woman standing before him is indeed a genie. Vana kept a promise that she is determined to follow through and with Zane there to help her control her wacky magic, Vana has no doubt that she'll turn the invisible children back into themselves. But she didn't plan on falling for Zane in the process.

Ahh. This book was a really fun and easy read. Hate to say this, but I read this series out of order. But, I think it's a pretty good stand alone and I didn't feel lost at all. The sezzy factor in this book is pretty mild, yeah there's that instant attraction and the ridiculous amount of kissing, but it was okay. Not, mind blowing, but not bad either. Speaking of kissing. If there was ever an award for the best way to cast a spell, Vana would win HANDS DOWN! When Vana does magic, to do so she puckers her lips and blows a kiss. To Whom? No one in particular. BUT, along comes Zane and when he kisses Vana all her wacky magic goes out the window and she's able to do some pretty great magic. Which then of course leads to more kissing... and even more kissing. *sigh* Lucky her!

We're first introduced to Vana about one hundred and some years before she meets Zane. Her master is Peter (Zane's grandfather) and she's trying to help him out any way she can, but with her wacked out magic abilities, Vana only seems to make things worse. So, Peter lets her back in her bottle and seals it shut, only to die a week or so later and Vana is stuck in her bottle. Fast forward a huge amount of years later, Vana finds herself with a hunkin' pro football player *Queue Zane's entrance* and Vana finds herself falling for this guy with only one passing day. Some kissing, some spinning porches and 3 old hags.. okay, okay, The Fates later, Vana can't help but tell Zane how she feels, even if that means losing her powers.

What I liked about this book was that it wasn't a heavy read. It was really light and funny, I found myself laughing out loud numerous times. I don't think there was anything I didn't like about this book. The only thing that comes to mind, is when Vana would always say "Holy smokes" That irritated Zane and it irritated me. But, everyone has their own little sayings that they say repetitively. For instance, mine is "No bueno", so it wasn't a major dislike for me.

I would most definitely recommend this book. If you love PNR but you're looking for something light and easy, then this book is definitely for you! This book is part of a series. I can't speak for the others, but if they're as good as this one, then I would suggest you get those too :)

Unable to resist the infuriating yet alluring Levi, Allie finds herself at the center of a supernatural society and forced to decide between following the path she has always trusted or saving a city that might just save her.

EXCERPT:
Closing my eyes, I tried to block it all out. Convinced I was about to die, I was only partly aware of his arms around me.

“You said you wanted an adventure,” he said quietly, teasingly, as he tightened his hold.

My stomach dropped out as an intense and complete feeling of weightlessness engulfed me. The wind stung my face as memories flooded my mind. I thought of my parents, of all the things I wanted to tell them but never did, my friends from home, and the experiences I longed for. Quickly my thoughts changed to more recent memories, to Levi.

“Open your eyes,” he whispered, somehow knowing my eyes were clenched shut.

Against my better judgment, I listened. The scream died in my throat as we hurtled toward the water that had seemed so beautiful from the roof above.

SUMMARY:
Once the seeds of desire are sown . . . Finally free of her suffocating marriage, widow Daisy Ellis Craigmore is ready to embrace the pleasures of life that have long been denied her. Yet her new-found freedom is short lived. A string of unexplained murders has brought danger to Daisy's door, forcing her to turn to the most unlikely of saviors . . .

Their growing passion knows no bounds . . . Ian Ranulf, the Marquis of Northrup, has spent lifetimes hiding his primal nature from London society. But now a vicious killer threatens to expose his secrets. Ian must step out of the shadows and protect the beautiful, fearless Daisy, who awakens in him desires he thought long dead. As their quest to unmask the villain draws them closer together, Daisy has no choice but to reveal her own startling secret, and Ian must face the undeniable truth: Losing his heart to Daisy may be the only way to save his soul.

MY REVIEW:
After being attacked in an alley by a creature that resembles both man and wolf, Daisy Ellis Craigmore finds herself in the arms of Ian Ranulf, Marquis of Northrup. Daisy soon finds out that this thing that attacked her was a werewolf, a sick, dying werewolf that has been killing women that carry her personalized perfume scent upon their skin. And just who is this Ian Ranulf that is determined to keep her within an arms length and safe from this vile creature? A Lycan, who can't help but find the recently widowed Daisy Craigmore attractive & all his.

Wheew. Okay. Totally stepping away from my vampire addiction and tooootally falling for this Lycan business! This book was extremely good & aside from me reading this series out of order (and hating myself for going against my OCD self), I didn't feel that I was missing anything while I was reading. Given, there are certain things that were said that totally gives away the first book, but nothing that will keep me from reading it, as I still want to know the details of what happens. Ian Ranulf *sigh* Ian is a Lycan and a mighty sezzy Lycan at that. After living the last 30 some years bedding whores with the resemblance to his late wife, Ian finally finds a woman who awakens him and makes him feel all over again. The problem? She's human & he doesn't want to lose her. Ian will keep her safe and away from this sick werewolf that has her sent stuck up his nose. How?  Pure alpha male force of course... Okay, maybe not so forceful, but her options sure are limited with him. Daisy on the other hand will have none of this nonsense from Ian and battles him back wit for wit when the overbearing, sezzy lycan tries to corner her. This book.. If I could go back in time... and jump into a carriage to get down and dirty... I SO WOULD!

What I liked about this book is that there's not just lycan's and werewolves, but GIMs, elemental witches, and... well, that's giving away too much. Now, I wouldn't really be into all this, as I've only read one series I absolutely loved with more than one kind of supernatural being in it, but this one really worked out. You knew there were supernaturals at work here, but it was really subtle and not overbearing like "I AM DRACULA AND I WILL SUCK YOUR BLOOOOOD" kinda nonsense on every page. What I didn't like was the slow trot to the sezzy scenes. *sigh* I felt like I was feeling all the tension and build up that Daisy was going through too! Practically screaming for Ian to "Huuur up and stick it in!!" Okay, not all that.. but you know what I mean.

Definitely recommending this book. BUUUUUUUT before you read this book, go on ahead and pick up Firelight (Book #1 in the Darkest London series) There's also a third book in this series called Winterblaze, release date: sometime in 2013.

The Darkest Night
(Book #1 in the Lords of the Underworlds series)

Genre: Paranormal Romance, 379 pages
ISBN-10:
0373775229
ISBN-13:
978-0373775224

SUMMARY:
All her life, Ashlyn Darrow has been tormented by voices from the past. To end the nightmare, she has come to Budapest seeking help from men rumored to have supernatural abilities, not knowing she'll be swept into the arms of Maddox, their most dangerous member--a man trapped in a hell of his own.

Neither can resist the instant hunger that calms their torments...and ignites an irresistible passion. But every heated touch and burning kiss will edge them closer to destruction--and a soul-shattering test of love....

 MY REVIEW:
Ashlyn Darrow can here voices, voices of conversations that have passed in any given location. When she hears of angels on a hill in Budapest, Ashlyn sets out to find these men to see if they can help her get rid of the voices that have been plaguing her since she was a little girl. What she wasn't expecting, was to find herself in the mist of  warriors with demon's trapped inside of them, or that she could feel something for this warrior/demon with amethyst eyes.

There are times when you wish you could read slower... this was that time for me. I forced myself to read this book as slow as possible, but instead, I zoomed through it like a match was lit under my ass. I absolutely loved all the characters in this book, as many as there are, Ms. Showalter definitely made each one unique in his/her own way. In the beginning of The Darkest Night, you're introduced to Maddox, keeper of Violence. Maddox is one of those dark & brooding alpha males, who doesn't love that? The constant battle between warrior & demon, where Maddox is trying to tamp down the demons urge to kill anything and anyone that got in his way and then the sudden change, when his demon started to agree with him, was definitely interesting and kept me wanting more... and surprisingly more of Violence. Kid me not, I like Violence... well, when he started to somewhat get along with Maddox that is. Ashlyn is strong but delicate, which I think made for a great heroine and a very good match for Maddox. She was scared (being a puny lil human, of course she would be) but determined and strong-willed, which I think really added to her character.

What I liked about this book is that it's different. Completely different from other PNR books I've read. Demons trapped in a warriors body... who woulda thought, right? Seeing the Lords take on these demons within themselves is something else entirely and pretty much makes this series freaking awesome, IMO. Honestly, I wouldn't want to know the Lords or read about them without the demons taking up residence in their bodies, the demons play a very major role here & add that much more flare to the books. What I didn't like... Gosh, nothing?  Zip, nada, zilch! I absolutely loved this book.

I would definitely recommend this book! Read it NOW! You're missing out. I know I was ^_^ If you love you some PNR or some sezzy warriors with demons that tend to lash out every now and again, then I suggest you jump on this bandwagon & get to reading! Pronto!

Genre:
Paranormal Romance, Urban Fantasy, 368 pages
ISBN-10:

ISBN-13:

SUMMARY:
Ancient Secrets, Dark Passions . . .

As one of the Grigori, a noble vampire dynasty shrouded in mystery, Ariane has spent her life hidden away in the desert. Like all of her kind, she is a watcher, fated to
observe, forbidden to act. Yet when her best friend Sammael vanishes, she defies all rules and flees her safe haven to bring him home.

A shape-shifting assassin for the House of Shadows, Damien Tremaine is hired to locate Sammael. His hunt for the wayward Grigori leads him to Ariane, the rogue vamp who stands between him and his bounty. Damien never lets emotion interfere with his work, but a single touch from the sexy, beguiling vampire shatters his self-control. Drawn together by their common goal, they begin an alliance of necessity that soon becomes one of desire. But when the secret at the dark heart of the Grigori comes to light, Damien and Ariane must make a choice that could bind them eternally . . . or tear them-and everything they care about-apart.

MY REVIEW:
Being kept hidden from the outside world, Ariane feels trapped. When Sammael, the only person among her kind who shows her even the slightest bit of affection disappears, Ariane takes it upon herself to flee this isolated place and search for him herself. Damien Tremaine, a cat shifting Shade who  has no intentions of taking on a partner when he is handed a job he cant refuse to go looking for a Grigori named Sammael. But when he runs into the beautiful and irresistible Ariane, he can't not deny the arousal she stirs in him and her request to be partners in search for her missing friend.

Although I didn't read the first two books to the Dark Dynasties series, I am extremely happy that I decided to go ahead and read Shadow Rising, despite the fact that it went against my OCD self to read a series out of order. My OCD was screaming and kicking at me to put the book down! (or press the big red X in the right hand corner because it was, after all, an eBook) Let's back to the review, shall we? I absolutely loved this book and find my self both loving and loathing the fact that I read this series out of order. There were parts where I thought I was missing something more, something important. But I was still engrossed and couldn't stop myself from turning the page. Ariane is one helluva character. I love her as a heroine. Ariane is so soft yet so damned fierce! The fact that she's so innocent contributes to her overall effect on me as a character. Being locked away for so long didn't tamp down her emotions and her will to live life. Aside from her ethereal beauty, Ariane is trained and well equipped to whoop your ass, to say the least. Damien Tremaine, Damien-freaking-Tremaine. I just want to eat him up! Damien is an amazing character. Thank you Ms. Castle for bringing him into my life! Before Damien meets Ariane, he's just a Cait Sith-Shade who could care less about the women he meets. Friends? Pshh what friends? Damien has secluded himself and the only company he needs is his own. Living the life of a Shade is not the life you bring home to a family.

What I didn't like... Well, I can't say I disliked anything about this book, other then the fact that I didn't read the first two books first. What I loved, was Ariane's character. Despite her being locked away for a really long time, she's kind and caring. And when Damien tries to pick a fight with her and instead of giving him that satisfaction, she opens herself up more to him. Another thing I love... and will always love, is DAMIEN!!! Can I just like... steal him away and lock him away? Haha, prob not eh. He purr's ladies! Purrs!! *sigh's dreamily*

I absolutely loved this book and would most definitely recommend this book! If you love yourself some Paranormal Romance with a haaaawt male that purrs and knows what he's doing... then you need to stop by your local book store (or Amazon) and pick up Dami- I mean Shadow Rising :)
