TBR Pile Knockout #9

TBR Pile Knockout is a weekly meme hosted by Ana of Beach Bum Reads and Anna of Herding Cats & Burning Soup. This meme was created to tackle our HUGE and STILL GROWING TBR piles.

We will be posting on the FIRST of EVERY month for the rest of the year. Our goal is to make a rather nice dent in our TBR piles. So, aside from our other lovely reads, we will be making sure ONE book out of our TBR pile will be read :)

Want to join in? Check out the rules:

1. Go to your TBR pile and randomly pick one book off your list!
  • We'll be using random.org to pick our reads.
  • Type in the number of books in your TBR pile where it says "MAX"
  • Then click generate and it will give you your randomly selected book!
  • NOTE: If the book chosen via random.org is part of a series, you can go ahead and read the first book in said series.
2. Come back here each week (or however often you'd like to join in) and link up your "TBR Pile Knockout" post in the linky below!

Don't know what to write in your post? You can Add the cover for your book, the book summary and details (author, publisher, etc.), you can leave a line or two on how long that book was sitting in your TBR Pile, or just tell us what you think about starting this one! You can always add in a review for your last pick too!

Don't have a blog? You can still join in! Just link in your Goodreads reviews or add link the Amazon/B&N page for the book and leave your thoughts in a comment on this page :)

Hey guys! So, because April kicked my ass and kicked it hard (ouch!) I decided not to pick another book to add to this ever growing pile o.O It's just... not good. lol. I haven't made any progress with any of these books, April was a month that I was just too busy to read. And when I did read, I read books that needed to be reviewed. So, with that being said, here are the books that are still on my KO Pile!

Still need to read:

Exiled: 1% done
Awakening: 0% done
The Seer's 7 Deadly Fairy Tales: 34% done - I've attempted at this one and I'm just not feeling it. So, it shall sit on this TBR list until I feel I can pick it up without reading and not comprehending a dang word read.
How Sweet It Is: 0% done
Minding Amy: 61% done - ^_^ This one I started the week it was chosen, I just haven't had time to really read anything for this meme. What with blog tour reviews and what not. But I am happy that I'm more then halfway done :)
Offside: 0% done - Didn't get to start this one yet, but hopefully soon.

NOTE: This meme is now monthly, so feel free to join in at any time during the month. If you finish your pick for the month, go ahead and pick another... and another... and—alright, I'm getting carried away, but y'all get the drift ;)

QUICK ANNOUNCEMENT: Anna and I have decided to push the meme to one book a month. That way we wont suck at our own meme. *sigh* Sad, I know. BUT, that means if you've been hesitant to jump in because of the timing and the amount of books, then FEAR NO MORE! lol. Of course, if you finish one book before the month is finished, you are more then welcome to randomly select another book, or just pick one out from your TBR pile that you've been wanting to read.

Lol. Sooo. I didn't even get around to this one. Though, I do plan on getting to it this month. I've knocked out quite a bit of review books last month and am fairly free to read whatever my little heart desires ^_^ I WILL conquer these books. WILL!!

Still need to read:

SUMMARY:
Revenge...it's a way of life for psychic, Lily Saburi. Haunted since the brutal murder of her best friend and partner, she's obsessed with retribution-a vigilante bent on striking a blow for humanity against the shadowed world of the supernatural. Prey turned predator she aims to even the score-one bullet at a time starting with the beast that changed her life forever. Prepared for Armageddon she's in for the fight of her life. But when mortally wounded by a diseased and insane Were, Lily is rescued by a most unlikely savior-Were-hunter, Sean Leighton. Sexy and powerful, Leighton is charged with destroying anything infected with the deadly pathogen threatening the survival of his pack, and that includes Lily. But their immediate attraction leaves them both breathless and confused. As Lily grapples with truth about herself, Leighton is faced with the looming reality that he will most likely have to kill the woman he's falling in love with. Only time will tell if they are destined to be together or if they'll fall victim to the Hunter's Blood.

Alright. I got this one as a freebie on Amazon a few months back. I'm intrigued. I was hopnig for something contemporary, but this will do. *crosses fingers*

So, what was your random pick this week?

NOTE: This meme is not monthly, so feel free to join in at any time during the month. If you finish your pick for the month, go ahead and pick another... and another... and—alright, I'm getting carried away, but y'all get the drift ;)

Lol. I did not finish my book. BUT, I'm gonna defend myself here. I did start it and I did get more then halfway through it, AND it is good. Really good actually. I just got sidetracked with other books *cough* Merry Gentry series by Laurell K. Hamilton *cough* You know how there are books you just CAN'T stay away from and want to devour them in one sitting? Yepp, that's the Merry Gentry series for me. I haven't read them in years, so I've been rereading them and loving EVERY. SINGLE. SECOND.

SUMMARY:

When hockey phenom Billie-Jo Barker returns home and decides to play in the local Friday night hockey league, all hell breaks loose. Not because Billie's talent is in question, but because Billie is a woman. And though these are modern times, some of the local guys still have a problem letting a girl into their 'men's club.'

Soon, Billie is at the center of a small town battle of the sexes, with everyone choosing sides. Her sisters. The townsfolk. Her friends. And yet, the only person whose opinion she cares about doesn't seem to care much at all. Logan Forest, the man who broke her heart when she was eighteen and the man she now shares the bench with every Friday night.

She's got a lot to prove and though Billie Jo Barker scores on the ice, will this girl ever score with the man of her dreams?

Oh, SNAP! I think Random.org is finally starting to warm up to me. lol. I got this book a while back on Amazon while it was free and couldn't wait to start it. And I'm glad I finally get the chance to read it. AND it's got sports in it! Hockey to be exact. That will count towards Anna's @ Herding Cats & Burning Soups's Sports Romance Reading Challenge. Alright. I was really excited to read this one the last two weeks. But, unfortunately I wasn't even able to pick it up. Didn't even read the first sentence >.< I've been swamped with review books to read and I've done pretty good on that front. Finished about 3 books this past weekend, so I'm happy about that. So I'll definitely be starting this one soon.

The other books that are still needing to be read from this meme are ...

This time my pick is...

SUMMARY:

Sassy London journalist, Amy Norton, is on the trail of a missing TV celebrity. When her over-protective father hires a bodyguard to accompany her during her investigative work, she's furious. Things only get worse when she realizes the bodyguard is the guy she mistakenly approached on a blind date the night before. She was all over the man and embarrassed herself, big time. The last thing she wants is to have him obstructing her task, gorgeous though he is.

Undercover Investigator, Sebastian Armitage, is amused and fascinated by the situation and sets out to charm the pants off the hot-headed Ms Norton. She is one sexy lady, and he wants her. Before long they embark on a red-hot affair, but how is Sebastian going to point out that she's going about investigate work the wrong way, while keeping her sweet?

62,000 words in length, hot contemporary romance. Please note, this title contains explicit language and graphic sex scenes.

Alright. I'm not making myself anymore promises. If I get to this one, I'll be damned proud of myself. Lol. It seems interesting enough. And I do love the cover. AND it's a hot contemporary romance. I've been lost in New Adult this past week, so I think I need to step it up and jump into my adult contemp. reads.

So, what was your random pick this week?

Alright you guys! This was my pick last time on TBRPKO and I did NOT finish it. I did start it, but my week was crazy hectic and didn't get a chance to finish not ONE book. But seeing as I was out of the house most of the time, I did get a chance to read one of my paperbacks :) *happy dancing* and made some real progress on that one. SEEEE this is why I need a tablet lol. So I can read all my eBooks too! But, I did start this one and I plan on finishing it this week after I finish up a different book that I've started and have yet to finish.

The other books that are still needing to be read from this meme are ...

This time my pick is...

SUMMARY:
Baiser means kiss in French. Delphine D'Arleux, traveling in Belgium for a candy-making class, doesn't expect to have the word demonstrated to her, especially by a stranger. Brad Larsen, an avowed chocoholic, knows he behaved badly by kissing the pretty French girl, but he can't quite regret his actions. Can he show Delphine that a longing fulfilled is sweet to the soul? A contemporary Christian romance.

OOH. This one definitely seems interesting. I've been fiending for some contemporary romance. I've been stuck reading some PNR and I think after this next book, I really need to just dive into contemporary for a while. A long while lol. As much as I love my vampy/wolfy goodness, I need some down to earth romance lol

So, what was your random pick this week?
