Random Rants #6

Random Rants is a weekly post I am starting that I will post on Sundays. I will be ranting about things I loved or didn't love from the past week...these rants do not pertain to books.
SCHOOL
Ahhh, I find myself very impatient when it comes to school. I'm going back to school to finish up my degree to get my AA and I can't register for classes until the 22ed at 9pm!! Nine freaking PM! Laaawd help me now. You're all probably thinking, "Why the hell is she so excited about school?" lol. Well to assuage your curiosity, I'm more or less excited because I love school, yeah... right. Here's the real reason. I feel like I've fallen so behind. Most of my friends have graduated with their BA's and are either going back to school for their Masters or taking a breather from the books. A few of my friends have graduated from a Junior College with their AA's and are now transferred to a 4year University and are well on their way to getting their Bachelors degree. *sigh* I have been in and out of school since I graduated high school (Which was back in '08 mind you) My first year of college I ended up withdrawing from all of my classes because I couldn't pay for the books and laaawd knows you definitely need those books to keep up to pass the class. Plus, I had gotten my very first job and was putting half of my pay checks away to pay for my books the next semester. Well, let's just say that didn't happen (the saving up part) Things happen, family happens and you end up just as broke as the day you were before you started working. So anyway, the reason behind my being in and out of school is because of financial issues. Now, I don't want to make this a huge ass post, although it seems to just be getting longer and longer the more my fingers fly over this dang keyboard. So, let me just say this before y'all start thinking that I haven't tried everything. I don't qualify for financial aid, as my parents make too much money, I used to qualify for the BOG fee waiver (free tuition) until my mom got a raise at work and then that went out the window. I've applied for more scholarships than I can count. I've applied for so many jobs, waited the six months, and applied to those same places again and I'm still applying to more jobs. A week or so ago I turned in 12 applications for CVS at 4 different locations and for 3 different positions. You would think living in California there would be a shit load of jobs open, but nope. I have yet to find one. So needless to say, I'm finally going back to school and I am gonna try and knock out this AA degree by next summer and transfer out to a 4 year university to work on my Bachelors. I hope to be working on my masters by 24... that sound's good right? I sure hope so.

Soryy for such a long post. But, I kept it to just one topic for today :)

  2. I miss school!! I just got out in May and will start my job in September. Right now I'm just at home taking more classes for my CPA and being a bum. and Broke. since I don't have a job.

School can be frustrating and so expensive! I'm surprised ur parents didn't help u pay for the books? Well yeah I guess 3 kids in college is so expensive!! I swear the education system in this country needs to change somewhat. I guess I was lucky because my parents don't actually make a lot of money so I had financial aid!

    Good luck with everything!

School is crazy expensive :( I don't like asking my parents for money. But, this year I'm like.. Ana, you're going to school end. of. story. lol. Yeah you would think we'd be able to get financial aid with the 3 of us going to college, but nope.. not happening. Thanks :) & good luck with your job in September! oh and your classes for your CPA :)

  3. I feel like I've been neglecting my bloggers ;( Lol.

Anyways, I wanted to go back to school last year too, but something always happens. Family, Financial issues, personal issues, it never ends. So I had to put my plans on hold, AGAIN! And now, I don't really think I CAN go back to school. Not because of any financial issues, though that's always there to remind me how broke I am -.-t Lol. This time it's because I honestly have no clue what I'd be taking, what do I want to do? Travel the World. *lesigh* take pictures, and read books! >.< I don't care for anything else. I've considered doing photography, but the camera I need to start is about 800-900 dollars! D: Bummer for me.

But I hope everything goes well for your school endeavors :D I do miss it a lot! I was always such a nerd >.< Lol And good luck finding a job too, I agree it's not easy finding anything in California... maybe we should move outta state? D: Lol fat chance there!! xD

I'll have to ask her. well I shouldn't say she paid for it because my dad bought it for her... smh, now she thinks she's daddys girl.. pfffffft. move over lil girl!! I'm dad's favorite!! xD What kind of camera do you want to get?

    3. the pro one's are really nice. I was on the Yearbook staff my junior and senior year of high school and I took a lot of pics with the nice cameras. wheeeew. Really, really nice. My sister's camera is really nice too. it's pretty much a pro cam as well. when she came home with it I was like.. oh hell no.. how much did you spend? she just shot back "how much was your computer?" touche.. smh

lol yeah I mean I have no prob with homework but it adds up when you take a lot of classes. lol yepp I'll have fun and form study groups with cute guys ;) ... lol Georgia State Univ. has been my #1 pick for schools to transfer out to. Only because it's really cheap.. and I mean cheaper than going to a state college here in Cali. Plus, after a year in Georgia I can file for residency and the prices for tuition and all the other fee's drop, making it even cheaper! so.. you see why I chose GSU. lol.. but now I'm rethinking it... I wanna stay in Cali.

    4. You're so lucky! I always wanted to join the yearbook staff in high school, but never any luck -.-t Smh. Lol @ your sister's reply! xD

Ooo, Can I be in your study group even if I don't go to school?? xD lmao... Oh, wow yeah that does sound really good, but I hear ya girly, I have thought about moving out of state, sometimes even countries, but Cali's my home.. I'll miss it >.< Lol

    5. lol. Yearbook was fun.. more fun than leadership -___- but either way, you get free passes for both xD lol when she said that I was just like... "its a bday gift" haha.

lol yes you can be in my study group! ONLY if you do my homework! hehe.. lol kidding. Yeah.. that's how I feel. Cali will always be my home.. hell SoCal will always be my home.. I'm not too fond of moving up to NorCal. Visit? yes. Live? HELL NO! If I were to move out of the country, I would move to New Zealand xD or Australia.

  4. He always said sports were for guys ONLY -.- Lol. I tried to, but I think it was because I hadn't heard of any good books, nor had I seen any that piqued my interest when I'd go to the library. I always tried to find a good book whenever I was feeling down and wanted to get away... I think reading would have saved my sanity back then O.O Lol

Aahh, that's why.. well they need to set a date and let their bosses know that they're taking off and if they don't like it they can shove it, cause they're going anyways xD lmao! Jk on that last bit! lol
