SUMMARY:

Leader of the most powerful army in the heavens, Zacharel has been deemed nearly too dangerous, too ruthless—and if he isn't careful, he'll lose his wings. But this warrior with a heart of ice will not be deterred from his missions at any cost…until a vulnerable human tempts him with a carnal pleasure he's never known before.
Accused of a crime she did not commit, Annabelle Miller has spent four years in an institution for the criminally insane. Demons track her every move, and their king will stop at nothing to have her. Zacharel is her only hope for survival, but is the brutal angel with a touch as hot as hell her salvation—or her ultimate damnation?

MY REVIEW:
Annabelle Miller has been locked away, drugged, and violated all within a four year span for a crime she did not commit. Seeing monsters that are trying to hurt her, Annabelle fights back even when the doctors think shes making everything up. That is, up until Zacharel, an angel with not a care in the world, (when it comes to fighting demons) swoops in to save her. (though that would be pushing it for the cold, ruthless warrior) Annabelle soon discovers that the thing that killed her parents and claimed her as his own was in fact a demon and this rare smiling, snow-falling-from-wings man standing before her is going to help her find him. Even if it means his cold, frozen heart warms with just the thought of being near her.

Okaaaay, let me just say that Gena Showalter has a new fan! And I will be fangirling from this day forward! My laaaawd. It took me a while to warm up to Zacharel and it didn't help that he was as far from warm as Santa Claus is to being real! Albeit, I gotta say, when I finished reading the book I was half in love with him and ready to push Annabelle out of the picture! I'm a bit hesitant when it comes to angels and demons, but I'm glad I picked this book up, because yeah.. no longer hesitant!  Annabelle is one tough chick. Having lost her parents in a very disturbing way and then being thrown into an institution for the criminally insane? Wow.. Just...yeah one tough chick. Having been through all that, she's strong (compared to normal people and not the hulking mass of angels that surround her) and brave. She's witty to no ends and is so dang lucky to have a man like Zacharel.

What I liked... The whole book? The cover? The characters? EVERYTHING!? hehe. Despite the fact that I couldn't stand Zacharel in the beginning, I liked that I warmed up to him as he began to change. Because, me and rude men just don't work well together! Zacharel was cold and heartless, so to speak, when it came to humans & fighting demons. But, as the book progressed he started to feel and understand just why he's in the position he's in. I absolutely loved the banter between the characters. Especially between Thane & Zacharel, it was like Zacharel didn't have an ounce of funny in him! Not a sarcastic bone in his body! He was so straightforward and brooding in a way. And Thane would sling insult after insult. I'm a Thane lover! I can't say there's anything that I disliked about this book. Other then not knowing when the next book in the series comes out! *sigh* I guess I can wait... impatiently.

I would definitely recommend this book! If you're a lover anything PNR then get your toosh up and go buy this ASAP! This is a series, though I don't know when the next book will be out. But it is going to be Koldo's story. Impatiently waiting...
