MY REVIEW:
Battleship is a very action packed movie. So, it most definitely gets a shiny golden star for being an action flick. The whole sci-fi aspect of this movie was not a lost cause on me either. I felt there really was no lagging in that area and kept the movie moving along and a fairly nice pace. I really enjoy these types of movies, but sometimes the whole action bits and pieces can be a little too much or fall just under my expectations line.

Like the game Battleship? Yeah, they were playing a bit of that in this movie (duh). I was a bit lost on this one (juuuust a teeny bit). As, I super-duper-suck at the game and military vocabulary makes me go deaf. BUT, I did watch this movie with my dad near by and he was in the Army, so I definitely bugged him on all that terminology. Therefore, giving me a good gist of what the actors were talking about. But, of course, you don't need an Army daddy/mommy/brother/sister/alien to tell you all about that, the movie does a pretty good job of keeping you in the loop and keeping you intrigued as well.

The acting was pretty danged good. Rihanna, I applaud you. You were pretty danged fierce, thought your Barbados accent did seep through a time or two. Liam Neeson made a few appearances (to hound the main character about dating his daughter) But, Liam Neeson only needs to appear for a few seconds and his character is sold lol. I really like all the characters in this movie, it was action beginning to ending also throw in a few bantering and you've got yourself a ready-made movie. Oh, don't forget the tissue. Can't have an action/sci-fi movie without deaths! Yes, you read that right. I said DEATHS, it was plural indeed.

Overall, I really enjoyed this movie and would definitely recommend it to all you folks out there who enjoy a good sci-fi/action film. If you liked the movie Battle: Los Angeles, then I'm sure you'll love this one as well.

  1. I liked the movie...lots of action, but I think the story line got lost in all that blowing up up "battleships" lols. Well at least I got to look at Alexander most of the time.

    Loved the review Ana :)

  2. I agree with the action not so much with the acting. There's a lot to be desired and the alien plot thingy didn't work for me either. Alexander and Taylor were the redeeming factor, if not for them this would be a snoozer

  4. I can see what you mean on the whole alien side of things. I think for this being a movie based around a shit load of water, that it was pretty good. Thanks for stopping by girly <3
